Computer Art - real or not?

I have been thinking about this a lot the last few days... is computer art "real art"? Is Zbrush real sculpting? After much thought, I finally came to this conclusion: To me, all art is an illusion. A marble statue of a person is not a real person, it's just a rock made to look like a real person. An oil painting is simply pigment smeared on a canvas and books are just words printed on paper. The humanity or lack of humanity comes from the artist manipulating the medium.

So in my opinion, the debate as to what's real and whats not is pointless. It's all fake, it's all an illusion. We are all struggling magicians trying to convince the world that our fantasies are true. So all artists reading this, never feel guilty about the tools you use, just focus on the honesty your trying to convey. Be truthful and passionate, live life to the fullest and express yourself freely through what ever medium you choose.
